POSITION OVERVIEW
Our lead Unreal Engineer will own the engineering direction of the project from prototype through ship.
You will lead the programming team, define architecture, and ensure that systems scale cleanly across gameplay, tools, and backend.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will write production code daily.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the programming team to develop the full stack, from gameplay to backend.
- Architect and implement scalable systems in Unreal Engine 5, including peer-to-peer networking.
- Collaborate closely with design and art teams to ensure features match expectations.
- Identify technical risks early and propose practical solutions.
- Document systems and maintain technical clarity across the stack.
- Establish engineering standards and best practices.
REQUIREMENTS
- At least six years of programming experience.
- At least three years of video game programming experience.
- Strong C++ proficiency.
- Extensive Unreal Engine experience.
- Network programming experience.
- Experience shipping at least one commercial game heavily preferred.
- Rapid prototyping abilities are a must.
- Clear communicator with a collaborative mindset.
- Comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback.
- A desire to ship on time and ship often.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with modifying or extending the Unreal Editor.
- Prior experience leading a small engineering team.
- Prior experience working with established IP.
- Availability within USA-based hours.
- A strong knowledge and passion for classic and modern games.
